The coming year should prove to be a fine one for rock-n-roll as Bunny Austin releases "Sway", their first CD. The band brings together four Birmingham, AL based musicians who have combined to create their own highly melodic, power pop. Blending a late-70's punk edge with classic sounds from the 60's best heavy hitters, their infectious sound will make you pour super glue on the repeat button. An old school, pounding rhythm section is provided by Tommy Prewitt (Month of Sundays) on the skins and Rich Albright (Altamont, Muddy King) on the four string. Tony Oliver brings a hypnotic and melodic sensibility to the keys reminiscent of Ray Manzarek. Guitars are offered up via Charles Arndt (Plaid Camels) as well as vocals lending a NY punk edge with Jim Carroll and Jeffrey Lee Pierce as obvious influences. The full package is delivered with a high energy live show that should make everyone's "must see" short list.
