Lou Kang was born in the city of St. Louis, Missouri on the day of April 29, 1990 and raised in the inner-city all of his life. He a different breed of a recording artist, with a combination of energy, extraordinary (VOCAL) sound, and profound lyricism his work will grasp the listeners attention immediately. Versatility is another important characteristic that this artist holds; with the ability to smoothly transition from a hardcore hip-hop artist, to a phenomenal Pop, Rock, and R&B feature, and also a songwriter. Lou Kang is far more than a hip-hop artist! He always loved and practiced music since the age of 12 when he joined piano and vocal music lessons at Carr Lane Visual and Performing Arts. At the age of 13, Lou wrote and performed an inspirational song about MAP testing for middle schools in the St. Louis Public School system and throughout high school created more scholarly jingles out of #1 hip-hop hits. In the year of 2008, Lou Kang began to seriously pursuit the dream of being a nationally recognized recording artist while in the city of New Orleans, La. while putting in footwork and performing in select nightclubs across the city. I’ve performed in numerous venues across the city of St. Louis for example The In Spot, The Ambassador, Club Legit, The Imperial Palace, Key West Lounge, The Warehouse, in New Orleans, La. at The Frat House, Peaches Records Store, The Sports Vue, Club Ampersands
Influenced by 2pac, Ice Cube, Scarface, Lil Boosie, and Bone Thugs N Harmony, Lou Kang represents his region with dignity but his greatest influence is the lack of opportunity and national exposure in his hometown St. Louis. Furthermore, Lou is relentlessly striving to be remembered as the person who truly opened doors to the music industry for the Midwest.
Lou Kang anticipates working with music moguls such as Young Jeezy, Nas, Lil Boosie, Busta Rhymes, Drake, Wiz Khalifa, Fabolous, Pusha T, Krazie Bone, Yo Gotti, Kanye West, DJ Drama, Eminem, Swizz Beatz, Mannie Fresh, Drumma Boy, Dr. Dre and Gucci Mane.
