The Squirrel Skin Slippers rolled on stage in 2007 as a rough n tumble Mr & Mrs howling garage blues rock n roll to a backdrop of raw echo soaked guitars and rumbling primal drum beats. This year sees them add good friends playing fuzzed out keyboards and driving bass guitar to their line up.
The Squirrel Skin Slippers draw musical inspiration from a mix of old deep south dirty blues, DIY 60’s garage rock n roll, rockabilly and folk noir. Their sound is like a primal, foot stomping, amped up yet stripped down blend of illegal liquor with undertones of John Lee Hooker and Sister Rosetta Tharpe and hints of Billy Childish, Link Wray and The Cramps.
Their first EP “Four Smokin’ Fables” was released in early 2009 on 12” vinyl, CD and on iTunes has since been followed up by their second EP “Four to the Floor”, available on CD, Bandcamp and iTunes.
