Washington DC’s Borracho exploded onto the stoner rock scene in 2011 with the release of their debut Splitting Sky, which was lauded with superlatives like "instant classic" and "must-listen." The album was named to ten 2011 best-of-year lists and earned the band a reputation as serious riff-slingers. It showcased the band’s songwriting talents, epic arrangements, and an uncanny ability to craft memorable hooks.
Since then the band has cultivated a strong following in the States and abroad, with multiple 7” and 10” vinyl single releases in 2012 and 2013. Their latest offering Oculus spotlights a band hitting its stride, with the confidence to take on all challenges ahead and have a good time doing it. The album reinforces the impressions made thus far, and continues to show growth and progression from a band doing it on their own terms.
With a strong work ethic and the desire to leave it all on stage, Borracho’s live performances have made a strong impact. They’ve shared stages with international acts like Fu Manchu, Truckfighters, Karma to Burn, Jucifer, Lo-Pan, Elder, and many more, and appeared at the Stoner Hands of Doom XI and XII festivals. Their next step is taking the show to Europe and beyond.
