Laura Stark / Bio
Stark worked on this album with Neil Conti (Prefab Sprout, Bowie, Eno) and BJ Cole (Sting, David Sylvian, Beck), whose kinetic drumming with BJ Cole's haunting slide sound lends an edgy tension to Stark's dark vocals. She has played 12-Bar Club, The Borderline, Ronnie Scott's, The Green Note and The Luminaire, as well as performing live and had airplay on Internet Radio both in the US, UK, and Denmark. She was a featured guest on BBC Radio and Resonance FM and in 2008 Stark played Folk Alliance in Memphis and SXSW in Austin, as well as MEANY Fest in NYC. Along with Neil Conti and BJ Cole, the album also features Chris Clarke on double bass (Lost Sons of Littlefield, The Rockingbirds) and Dick Farrelly on electric guitar (Van Morrison) and was also expertly produced by Conti at his new Minimoon Studio in Montpelier, France with sound engineer Jeff Fernandez, and mastered by No'a Winter Lazerus (Steely Dan) in Hollywood.
