Horseshoe Lounge Playboys / Bio

The Horseshoe Lounge Playboys is a five piece band playing “Acoustic Backwoods Americana,” which translates to an obscure repertoire of mostly original songs blended with material exhumed from musical tombs stretching from Appalachia to Memphis. They create powerful, sometimes mournful vocals backed by guitar, mandolin, fiddle, acoustic bass and percussion. Everyone in the band sings and composes.HLP won Imprint Radio’s “Best Live Performance of 2009” a busy year with 72 shows including two tours in Colorado, shows in Laramie Wyoming, Chicago, Baltimore, etc. HLP headlined several festivals and joined the likes of Leon Redbone, Maria Muldaur, John Gorka, Ollabelle and The Grascals on the stages of several Concert Series programs, received standing ovations (thank you very much), reissued their sold out 2008 album " One Horse Town" and self produced a new “live” CD titled "Bootleg."
