Sandy Weisto began performing folk music in high school. Over the years she has performed both solo and as a member of various groups. Currently singing back up vocals for the Psychadelic Arab-American band Painted Caves, vocals and guitar with the traditional Irish band Bantry Bay, and solo performances that often include spoken word. Performed in the past with the women's trio Sweet Diversity, The Silver Linings (a trio that included the late Carlos Otero, flamenco guitarist), and Mud River Lee and the Bluegrass Orchestra with the Bluegrass Belles. In 2006 she began performing poetry and in 2008 wrote and published her first chapbook, Coyote.
