Oatie Paste was born out of a love of music and a desire to not work so much. The band formed out of the ashes of other bands in October of 2007 in Durango, Colorado and quickly emerged in the local scene, becoming known for their catchy blend of ska and pop-punk and a humorous live show. The band began traveling in the summer of 2008 and has toured independently throughout the southwest. They have shared the stage with bands such as Guttermouth, Warsaw Poland Bros, 40 Oz To Freedom, The Itals (from Jamaica!), Knock-Out, Potato Pirates, The A'OKs, The Big Spank, and a slew of other touring acts.Their debut album Singin' Cheers and Slammin' Beers was released in October of 2008.
In June of 2009, Oatie Paste embarked on the Boats and Hoes Tour- a 2000+ mile romp across the southwest. After climbing the ropes of Durango's music scene, Oatie Paste moved to Denver in late September of 2009 to establish themselves in a bigger scene.
2010 saw more time on the road for the band, building up a fan base across Colorado. Their second album In Bar Form was released in June of 2010.
In 2014, Oatie Paste performed at the Animas City Theatre for the first time.
