Precious Joubert (joh - Behr) is an accomplished singer, songwriter and entertainer known for her soulful lead vocals for the acclaimed band Sound of the City—a band that has accompanied internationally-recognized recording artists on stage such as Keyshia Cole, Angie Stone, Jill Scott, Bilal, Dwele, Floetry and many more. Skilled in her vocal versatility, Joubert has been a featured background vocalist for many award-winning artists including Chrisette Michelle, Glenn Lewis, Rahsaan Patterson, and Leela James. Joubert also provides music and vocal production services for the Sound of the City Music Group, Inc production company, and she is a songwriter for Water Music Publishing. In 2012, Joubert released her debut solo album In the Meantime with Sound of the City Music Group, Inc.
Joubert is a Washington, D.C. native who was raised in a household full of musicians and entertainers. As such, she was birthed into a passion for music. At just 11 years of age, she began to sing professionally, which would aid in the development of her strong and distinctive vocals. To date, Joubert’s singing careers has seen trials and triumphs – from unsuccessful girl groups to now defunct bands – but, she has found comfort and success as the “First Lady” of the Sound of the City (SOTC) band in D.C.
Joubert currently works with the extremely talented musicians and producers of SOTC (formerly known as Big Boy Beats Productions), which includes co-founders Christopher “Biscuit” Bynum and Vohn “Mr. Higgz” Higginbotham. Together, this music production/musician power duo has worked with artists such as Eric Roberson, Marsha Ambrosius, Ledisi, Rahsaan Patterson, Walter Beasley, and Algebra Blessett to name a few. Additional SOTC production credit can be found on the Grammy-nominated R&B album The Love & War MasterPeace (2010) by Raheem DeVaughn, in which SOTC produced the cross-over hit Super Hero.
If providing songwriting skills to artists in a wide range of music genres wasn’t enough, Joubert has already entered the realm of acting where she has landed roles in commercials, television programs, and theater. In 2010, Precious briefly joined the crew of the Marcel Morning show as the interim co-host on Atlanta’s Hot 96.3 WMAR FM alongside other radio heavy hitters. Even as an accomplished entertainer, Joubert continues to perfect her music knowledge in the classroom setting. She is currently pursuing a B.S. in the Music Business Program at Full Sail University—one of the most-recognized programs in the music entertainment industry.
Joubert’s most recent music business project – alongside Christopher “Biscuit” Bynum, and Vohn “Mr. Higgz” Higginbotham – has included the formation of Sound of the City Music Group, Inc. (formerly an LLC only offering music production services), a business that offers music production, live band and vocal backing, vocal production and arrangement, songwriting, music education, and artist development.
In 2012, Joubert released a highly-anticipated solo EP entitled In the Meantime, the first of several solo albums to be released from SOTC band members with Sound of the City Music Group, Inc.
