After showing an exceptional talent for learning to play and sing the songs of Hank Williams, Bob Dylan and Fats Waller, Travis Linville submersed himself in his guitar and into the musical journey that has taken him to 44 states, 6 Canadian provinces and cities all over the United Kingdom. After four years of Oklahoma dancehalls and dives (the fake ID years), Linville emerged as a songwriter and original recording artist with the Okie/Alt./Americana/FolkRock sensation The Burtschi Brothers. Six years of relentless performing and uncomprimising artistic vision transformed the young guitar slinger into something of an Okie icon and earned him a lifetime of street cred among musicians and fans all over the central United States and beyond. The six years since the Burtschi Brothers have seen this guitar hero mature into a singer/songwriter, producer and sideman with limitless depth and class. While most often recently seen traveling as a multi instrumentalist with Austin singer/songwriter Hayes Carll, Linville has continued to nurture his own art and it is his most recent EP release "Sun or Moon" that is the current culmination of this amazing journey. The five songs that make "Sun or Moon" speak on fatherhood, baseball, love, mortality and the hum of the highway, and they give us a glimpse into the soul of this 34 year old troubodour. It's the soul in the songs and performances that reveals why Travis Linville is one of Oklahoma's favorite musical treasures.
