One Big Owl / Bio

One Big Owl is an indie/folk rock band from Nashville, TN. Formed in 2008 as an extension of lead vocalist and guitarist Mark Bullock’s songwriting talent upon his relocation from Ruston, LA, the band consists of Chandler Kellogg on bass, Daniel Johnson on lead guitar, Sephra Osburn on backing vocals, Chris Hauser on drums, and Kyle McCormick on tenor saxophone and keys.

Drawing inspiration from Neutral Milk Hotel, Sufjan Stevens and Wilco, One Big Owl has crafted a sound that rests delicately on the fence between sweeping, venturous movements and the trembling, emotive elegance that stays true to the core of Bullock’s confessional writing. Having quickly become a fixture in the college town of Murfreesboro and expanding their radius to include regular Nashville performances, the band is working hard to extend its presence and continue to write material for a proper studio album.
