Kenny Whitworth / Bio

Kenny has always loved music, He began teaching himself guitar at the age of 15, and very soon after began penning his own tunes.

In 1990 He came to New York with a handful of original songs, and began going to the Speakeasy club on MacDougal St in Greenwich Village, one of the clubs where the neo folk scene had once flourished in the 1980's.

Kenny gigged regularly at The Speakeasy until its close in 1993. Soon after that he found himself a few blocks over at The Duplex Cabaret at Sheridan Square in a year long Stars of Tomorrow talent search sponsored by the club. He eventually became a finalist.
From 1999 into 2001 Kenny appeared regularly at the now defunct "C" Note over on ave C & 10th st in the East Village, where he was happy to finally get some Saturday evening shows.
Kenny had successful shows in 2006 at the New York Culture Center's Concert Series, and at Kennys Castaways on Bleecker Street, in the heart of Greenwich Village.
These days He regularly plays at Open Mic Night programs in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, Metuchen, NJ, and Cape May, NJ.
