Dale James was born Dale James Turkovics in Flint, Michigan. He started playing guitar at age 11 and began performing and writing songs by age 14. Dale has won awards in Guitar competing at the American Guild of Music in both the group and soloist categories. He played weddings, parties, clubs and battle of bands locally around the Flint area forming The Sound System with bassist Mel Schacher (who later joined Grand Funk Railroad) and toured with ? & the Mysterians before going out on the road at age 18 with the club band HearAfter.
After several years on the road, Dale settled in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and began playing concerts and club dates in the South Florida area opening for such acts as: The Pointer Sisters, Herman's Hermits, The Shirelles, Ted Nugent, The Monkees, Mitch Ryder and the Platters among many others. Later, Dale began doing studio work writing and recording jingles, commercials, movie soundtracks and performing as a studio musician for local bands making demos and albums while assembling his home recording studio using midi sequencers, sound modules, mastering and midi software and live instruments to record rhythm section tracks while adding real time guitar and vocals himself to complete projects for aspiring artists as well as his own endeavors.
