Funeral Remain formed in April 2008 by three young musician from Smalven High School in West-Surabaya (Berly, Rawkz, Rockhitis). They began to play, BUT HAS NO RECORD FUND to keep on going. When the scene of medio Alternative Rock in 90′s began to rise again, we more concern to forge a more powerful indeed. Then we ask Dimz and Torz (ex-Shock N Confuse) into joining our band. Then we named our self Funeral Remain, which means that everything has it’s own thorn, even a beautiful rose. We play a pure rock music combined with Grunge, Noise Rock, Psychedelic and other alternative influences. Our lyric depicted for love, sympathy and spirit of togetherness (In many case, we also write a sad story, sorrowfulness and even black-ambient gloomy music).
The Crew of our little band also significantly boost our gratitude. In no means of their dedication, there are: Candra “Chun” for managerial contact, K-Chenk in Bass Technician and also our favorites gospel in Graphic Design, Deni (thanks for creating all of our awesome banner). And others amazing people we’ve meet, which we cannot explain it one by one. Thanks a lot !!
In the early career we also have a touring guitarist, Torz. Our first song demo titled Yesterday was a tribute song for Tunas Hijau Club Indonesia for their compilation. Tunas Hijau Club is a non-profit organization that active since last 5 years to prevent the earth crisis, especially for youth. One of their first movement called “Eco Youth”. Now on, Dimz and Torz are still active in that organization.
The drummer, Rockhitis, is replaced by Fahmi in the mid October 2008. The main problem was a ‘different vision’. For the first rehearsal, we have a 4 track including: Suicide Yesterday, Yang Terbuang, Savior In The Light and Friend Of Morphine. In mid 2009 we released 3 demo songs including those tracks added with new single “Bosan” (without Savior In The Light and Friend Of Morphine). This formation last for almost 3 years and in February 2012 Rawkz (aka Wowok) left the band due to pursue his career in cinematography. We decided to continue the band with only 3-pieces. Now, we have a strong ammunition and ready to smash the stage like the tons of feedback sound.
Nowadays, we’re still looking for our first label. In addition, we also preparing for our new songs, including the other demos: Kill The Intro and Frozen Heart. Our first long-everlasting journey has began in our Nation full with contemplation of disasters, in the heart of our mother earth. Sooner or later, we’ll know the answer.
