Country, soul, mixed with a little bit of rock and roll describes the music of James Colt, a Georgia born singer and songwriter.
Colt was blessed with an extraordinary musical talent and began playing when he way nine years old. “My dad gave me a guitar when I was nine. He showed me three chords and I went from there,” said Colt.
At the age of fifteen, James Colt began writing his own music. His music is truly a reflection of his life and is inspired by everyone he meets. “I have had conversations with strangers and then sat down and written a song about something they said or were going through,” said Colt.
For the past few years, Colt has been performing in venues throughout the south. After many requests for a CD after playing at a friends wedding, Colt decided it was time to make it happen and release a record. Colt remarks, “Now, I am married to my music, and I am going to give it my best to take it to the top.”
Soon after deciding to release a CD, Colt was suggested to his producer, Tyler Douglas, by a mutual friend, and began the process of creating an album.
James Colt’s single 'Kissin' Country' is now available, and his self-titled CD is estimated to be released Spring 2012. When asked what he is most looking forward to with his music career he responded, “I am looking forward to having songs played all over the country and people feeling something when they hear my music!”
