Singer/Songwriter/Multi-instrumentalist Chris Barrett has been based in boston but performing nationally and internationally since 1993.
Dr. Vorhees is the moniker of Chris’s solo project. Hotel Stanley, the Dr. Vorhees debut, was recorded by Chris at home at random intervals over the last 3 years or so.
Currently a member of rising Boston Americana band Kingsley Flood and retro orchestral pop/rock band Eddie Japan, Chris has played with, or been a member of Tiger Saw, Christians & Lions, Logan 5 & the Runners, The Paula Kelley Orchestra and The Gerry Barrett Big Band, among others. The latter group was a 17 piece big band led by Chris's father.
Since 2009, Chris has appeared on "Dust Windows" by Kingsley Flood, in addition "Featurette" by Logan 5 & the Runners, "four X six" by Eddie Japan, numerous EPs by funf and has had guest appearances on records by The Prime Movers, Quixote, The Luxury, Ad Frank & the Fast Easy Woman and Christians & Lions.
Chris plays a multitude of instruments that includes trumpet, guitar, keyboards, bass, drums, ukele, mandolin, euphonium, glockenspiel and trombone.
He also writes songs, horn and string arrangements, produces and has extensive experience creating digital/electronic music and digital audio editing.
In addition to performing, Chris is available for any/all studio work on instruments/vocals/production/arranging/digital editing.
