Rhombus are regarded as one of the finest Goth Rock bands to emerge from England in many years. Well established on the UK alternative circuit, Rhombus now find themselves in demand across Europe as their exciting brand of Goth Rock draws admirers from as far afield as Germany, Greece, Italy, Spain Australia, Russia, Brazil, Peru and USA.
Mixing male and female vocals with swirling guitars, driving bass and electric violin, Rhombus combine some of the best elements of traditional 80s/90 UK Goth, with their own modern, upbeat approach. In addition to their studio indulgences, Rhombus have cultivated an exceptional reputation for their live performance, winning over audiences and powering the party, whether it be in an intimate club venue or from a festival stage.
2007 marked a major turning point as their second album Remembrance Day was released with the support of Resurrection Records. A conscious decision was made to develop a bigger stage show, whilst expanding and enriching the sound.
2010 saw Rhombus release Open The Sky, again with Resurrection Record in London and now AF Music in Germany. This took the band to a new level. The album was written and produced by all four members of the new settled line-up together with Stephen Carey coming on board to handle mixing duties. Open The Sky received fantastic reviews including top marks from Gothic Magazine in Germany, Dominion in The UK and Rock Hard Magazine in Greece.
Rhombus were honoured the following January as they were crowned “Band of 2010” by Static Magazin in Germany.
2011 started as Rhombus signed with an international agent. A European debut in Berlin and more mainland shows followed. At home Rhombus made their second appearance at DV8 Festival and delivered a stand out performance at Destroy The Silence in London. The Anywhere EP was released including an exciting new track called ‘Timeless and Elegant’. The song quickly becoming a firm favourite offering fans their first hint about what to expect from the next album.
Rhombus finished the year with a short tour of Germany and a massive show at the Whitby Goth Weekend. Described by many as the highlight of the festival, the show included a chorus of backing singers (The Rhombettes) and a guest appearance from Anne-Marie Hurst
2012 has already seen Rhombus break an attendance record in Leeds, headline a European festival in Austria and receive a fantastic reception as they debuted at Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzig in front of 1500 people.
As lives shows continue across Europe, all four members of the band are now concentrating on the new album. New songs are being developed and recording will continue over the summer ready for release in November. This album finds Rhombus content either to work as a tight unit of four or embrace the contribution of carefully chosen guests. Quality control is always high and though getting it right always comes before getting it ready, Rhombus hope to get this release out on time.
The band are blessed by support from an ever expanding collective of intensely loyal followers, promoters, DJs, writers and photographers, who together with our backroom team and crew, ensure Rhombus always “Make Better Party”
