Kevin A. Hill, a.k.a keHill goes by the acronym:
Knowledge, Equality, Honesty, Illustrate, Loving, Life.
Powerful words which display the developing mind of a 19 year old as he journeys through life in the search of wisdom, peace and happiness. Born in 1993, in the rainy north shore of Vancouver, BC he was quickly emerged into outdoor activities and sports where he excelled. Known as being shy, and rather quiet, but able to prove his toughness and his strong heart through his actions. His easy to get along with personality led him to acquire many friends in all areas from the jocks to the geeks, but he always felt more comfortable on his own. As he got older, he developed a diverse collection of hip hop CD's and took it as a duty to educate others around him on the history of hip hop. He disagreed with the mainstream media portrayal of good music and chose to dig deeper to uncover the true purpose of the art. As a young teenager he experienced a fatal accident rock climbing. Knowing it could have easily taken his life, he knew he had to take advantage of this second chance to live. Throughout his rehabilitation his inactivity was putting a halt to his progression so he decided to strengthen his brain instead. Indulging himself into the art of hip hop, and poetry he quickly noticed the great relief writing brought, and the idea of using music as a way to express his emotions. He didn't like being told what to learn in school instead he read his own books of interest and spent most of his day with his headphones on blocking out the pressures and expectations of society. He spent most of his class time discreetly listening to instrumentals, and writing quotes in his binders instead of notes. He then learned to form these rhymes into verses and performed them for friends, seeing their positive reactions provided him an ecstasy he had never felt before. Over the high school years he became known for his skill with freestyling, so everywhere he went people asked him to spit a rhyme and he always rose to the occasion. His life took a turn for the worse when he was expelled from school and arrested for marijuana, he was also starting to witness friends become victim to drug addictions, and it seemed the art of hip hop would prevail as the light at the end of the tunnel. In a predicament whether to pursue university as expected or to establish himself as a self employed musician, he decided to go with music as his main ambition. Separating himself from most "artist’s" of our generation: keHill’s purpose is not only to entertain, but to use his music to produce positive social change.
