Cindercat's broad range of musical influences emerge through a unique tapestry of sound. They create a hypnotic flow, manipulating the soundscape with soaring peaks and spacious resolves. As an instrumental progressive-rock band, dynamics are a fundamental element of their music. They touch on a handful of genres, while always aiming to keep the crowd moving as well as thinking. As a collective of creative individuals, they strive to incorporate various forms of mixed-media into their music to create a dynamic atmosphere at every show.
In the winter of 2011, Cindercat teamed up with producer/recording-engineer/multi-instrumentalist Matt Williams to record their debut album. Recorded over three days at The Eagle Room studio in Weaverville, NC, Remnants of Earth was released in August of 2011. With this first studio release after four years together as a band, the album marks an important time in the evolution of their sound. From theremin infused ambiance and electronic dance grooves to shredding guitar solos and soulful jazz fusion, Remnants of Earth represents a snapshot of what makes Cindercat's sound so dynamic.
