Paula Aubert is an accomplished, performing songwriter. Born and raised in the north woods of Minnesota. Her mother and father were always listening to music in their home (oldies music) was always played on the radio. Paula was the second of five children. She had a meager upbringing. But she always loved music. She was a "wild child". As wild as the woods as she grew up in. She wasn't a good student, but music was an interest. Her parents always made her feel like she could be whom ever she wanted to be, and were very encouraging about pursing her music dream. She has always had a need to be creative in some way.
Paula loves songwriting and recording the songs. Her voice has been described as soulful and Powerful. Songwriting is a major part of her life. She understands how special a great song is and how rare they are. She spent much time observing jam sessions and band practices during high school, and was in the high school choir. She went to several metal concerts with her high school sweetheart, who is a professional bassist in a metal band currently. She learned early on about passion for music. She never in a million years thought she'd have a musical endeavor of her own.
Paula just returned to the Tampa Bay area from the Austin, TX area where she spent the last two years. Where she continued to work at developing her songwriting, performing, and recorded her debut album 'Purdy Wings' in South Austin. Paula's husband (Tim) recorded most of the album at home. Then when they were trying to back up the tracks onto the hard drive, the entire album vanished. The compact flash drive containing all of the tracks had to be sent off to a data retrieval company where most of the album was recovered. Paula had to go into a studio (Yellow Dog Studios) to redo some of the vox tracks that were lost.
Paula is already recording her second studio record. Paula's resilience and passion are undeniable. Drawing influences from all kinds of music: songwriter, folk, Americana, and bluegrass music. Paula's 'Purdy Wings' are ready to soar.
