Stephen Wilson was the last baby of four born to a single mom on Jan. 11, 1981 in the largest city in the contiguous United States, Jacksonville, Fl. After many years of listening to the soulful sounds of music played through his parent’s radio Stephen found himself mesmerized with instrumental tones and lyrical compositions. 90's R&B and Hip Hop sounds from iconic bands such as and Jodeci, 2Pac, Mint Condition, Master P and a young Jay Z, just to name a few, would leave a lasting impression on the once troubled rapper turned entrepreneur. Although Stephen’s love and musical roots undoubtedly transpired from his genuine admiration of music, one genre in particular would lead him to exchange his legal name and adopt his new found entertainment name iHustla. Yes Rap has transcended boundaries unbeknownst to the young teenaged rapper beginning with the signing of his first record deal in 2005 with DEG Records, a small entertainment company located in Jacksonville Fl. Unfortunately this dream was short lived due to irreconcilable creative differences.
Nearly a decade later Ihustla continues to create his footsteps along the shores of success. In 2007, after years of open mic performances the emcee would later put his entrepreneurial skills into practice and become founder and CEO of Est. New Musik Entertainment. This would not only define him as a business minded individual but would excel his rapping career into a whole new dimension. From his recent hit “Emergency that hit Power 106.1 FM to doubled disc debut album entitled “Both Sides of a Hustla” along with his highly anticipated mixtape “Street Dreams” iHustla has proven himself to be a forced to be reckoned with.
