Carlos Sullivan (Los D. The P.O.E.T) was born in Columbus, Ohio around the beginning of what we now call Hip Hop Culture. His influences are 2 Pac, Brand Nubian, Da Brat, Das Efx, Kid N Play, Kris Kross, KRS-ONE, LL Cool J, Mobb Deep, Onyx, Snoop Doggy Dogg, and Wu Tang Clan to name a few. In 1992, Los D really feel in love with hip hop music, and the compositions of Dr. Dre. He then said; "One Day, I'm A Do That" and in 1997 He wrote his first rhyme along with classmate "Eddie Avery", the two of them would battle rhymes against each having fun in their 10th grade English class. As Los D got better he came closer to starting his dream. It was the summer of 1999, when Carlos met Richie Suttles, Dwayne Carson, and a few others that had a group called: "Last Day Prophets: L.D.P" it was a group they had started at their church.
Upon meeting Suttles, Carson and the others, they had asked Carlos if he rapped, He said yes, and they asked him if he wanted to be apart of the group. He seen it as a cool way to make new friends, and at the same time, work on his shyness, and stage presence as well as having fun doing what it was he liked, and that was Hip hop. A little after a year, the group parted ways when Charles Clay, then known as (Izod The Illustrator) came home from the Navy, the crew was kind of left in the cold, but Carlos seen it as great timing, because around that time he met Nathan Webb (Naethoven) a local producer and engineer whom had a home based studio. Los D looked at it as a chance to finally learn how to do what it was he was supposed to do, and what members of his family were doing, and that was creating the actual music itself.
With only one CD out, Los D was forced to wait a couple years because Naethoven had started going to school for music, and their was know where to record or make beats at the time. It was 2002 when Carlos' dad passed away, he had left a portion of land to Carlos, and his older brother and sister. Since Carlos had no cash flow to keep the land, he took his 1/3 of the cash flow, and bought his own studio equipment, this is why Carlos is ready to go to war with any emcee or crew, he see's it as a disrespect to his fathers legacy and what he was left with. In 2003, Carlos had started Chemistry Lab Recordings, first recording himself, Jimm Beem, and Clay then known by (Gun Man 8). In 2004, Sullivan and Clay took part in the WPCC Amateur Night Show where they took home second place to Comedian "Hue Baby."
In 2008, Los D linked up with Alaric Wilder (Supreme of Sunz of Man) to release 2 group albums a solo release, and a featured song on Supreme's "Street Kid Movie. Groups albums were; "Witness
Protection, The Inception, and a solo called: Life in 3D." In 2010, Los D left Supreme's "Git Rite Muzic" and shortly afterwards, started Sound Drop Entertainment summer of 2012. Every since then Los D has been on a non-stop mission to make his name known, whether by beats or his extreme rhyme skills.
He follows in the steps of artist(s) like; Mobb Deep, Mos Def, Nas, and Talib Kweli lyrically, but with his on style, and delivery. He enjoys using metaphors and descriptions from his favorite anime toons, to compare every day life. He's most hated on for this purpose as seen with battles with other local artist(s). Most have an extremely hard time understanding his story, because he is so complex with his rhyming comparisons. Today Los D, has his mind set to be the greatest of all time!
