Michael Logen is an internationally touring pop-folk singer/songwriter, currently based out of Nashville, Tennessee. Having opened for such artists as John Legend, Jonny Lang, India.Arie and Mat Kearney, he's also toured extensively throughout North America as well as Ireland, England, The Netherlands, Germany, France, Spain, Italy and Turkey.
Michael's songs have been featured on multiple TV shows including “Parenthood” (NBC), “One Tree Hill” (CW) “Real World”, “The Hills” (MTV), “Kyle XY” and “Switched At Birth”(ABC)
An active songwriter, Michael's songs have also been recorded and often co-written with other artists including Kelly Clarkson, Mat Kearney, Jonny Lang, Brandon Heath, The Greencards, Paul Carrack, Will Hoge, Sister Hazel, Gordie Sampson, Jimmy Rankin and many others.
Growing up in a musical family in the small town of Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, Michael started writing songs at the age of 12 and spent many afternoons playing bluegrass and folk music with his Dad and brother. After high school he hit the road playing in prisons across North America. He then headed for Nashville, attended college and signed with Combustion Music soon after graduation. During this time he took a backpacking trip through Europe and wrote much of his debut album along the way.
Soon after returning, Michael released his debut album, “Things I Failed To Mention” with a CD release party at which Kyle Cook (Matchbox 20) played in the band as a special guest. Songs from this album have been featured on several TV shows and over 200 radio stations in the US. Songs from “Things I Failed To Mention” also went on to win multiple awards including International Songwriting Competition’s “Song of the Year Award” in the “Folk/Singer-Songwriter” category and the Unisong International Songwriting Competition “Song of the Year Award” in “Americana”.
In October of 2011, Kelly Clarkson released “Breaking Your Own Heart”, written by Michael Logen and Jennifer Hanson on her album “Stronger”. The album went on to win a Grammy in 2013 for “Best Pop Vocal Album”.
Also In 2012, Nettwerk Recording Artists “Delerium” invited Michael to be a guest artist and cowriter on their first single called “Days Turn Into Nights” on their album “Music Box Opera”. The song climbed to #16 on the Billboard Dance/Club Charts and 9 different remixes were released including offerings by Seven Lions and Solarstone.
After signing with Nettwerk Music/Moraine Music in 2011, Michael has released 6 singles and a music video for song “World On Fire” co-written with and produced by Jacquire King (Kings of Leon, Norah Jones, Tom Waits) while also completing a Netherlands tour in September of 2012 and another Netherlands/UK tour in the spring of 2013. He is currently working on another full-length release.
