Rude Tuna is a six piece original Ska/Punk band from Seattle. The band first formed the summer of 2008 after guitarist Sean Dwyer and drummer Paul Davis jammed a few times. Over the following months they compiled a line up of great musicians with similar interests and passion. By January of 2009, Tuna had written and recorded originals and posted them on Myspace. With help from Timmy Profit of The Diablotones they played their first show at West Seattle’s Easy Street Records in February of 2009. This showed ended up having one of the largest attendances in the history of that Easy Street, only second to Pearl Jam! In the following months Tuna branched out all over the Puget Sound area finding shows in Bellingham, Arlington and Bremerton all while writing and recording new material. By the fall of 2009, shows became spars due to members going off to college, however they managed to continue gigging with stand-ins. In December of 2009 Tuna landed their biggest gig to date opening for Boston’s own Big D and the Kids Table at El Corazon in Seattle.
Since then Rude Tuna has released a full length, self-titled, album and the Blue Skies EP. They went on tour in the summer of 2010 hitting cities in the west coast states. Now Rude Tuna is working on a new full length album and has released all the dates for their up coming tour in May of 2012. More to come soon, we'll keep you guys updated.
