Boston based singer songwriter Rich O’Reilly composes material gleaned from life experiences as a man with a Christian world view. His music combines biblical themes with a mix of styles borrowed from his musical influences over the years. True to these roots, Rich’s sound is an eclectic mix ranging from acoustic and classic rock to blues and folk.
Rich first picked up the bass at the age 13. By the time he was 17, he was playing the local club scene in the greater Boston area. For the next 25 years he honed his skills as a much sought-after freelance bassist.
He continued to play the New England club scene performing with many of the top rock, blues and jazz bands. Making way for his bands to become headliners, he opened for many national acts including Tommy Castro and Duke Robillard, in venues such as The House Of Blues in Cambridge, MA and The Last Call in Providence, RI.
Being raised in the baptist church, Rich grew up sensing the presence of the Lord putting a call on his life. After recommitting his life to Christ, he quenched his thirst to serve God by lending his talents as a bassist to several praise and worship bands .
During this period, Rich worked at fine tuning his acoustic guitar skills and song writing technique. In addition, he put together a home studio from which he has released 4 CD's of his own material.
Rich currently performs as a solo Christian acoustic singer/songwriter in the greater Boston area.
