We are Peekaboo Theory. The name of this band has been explained in many different ways, but all in all it’s in your head and your perception is your reality. We officially formed in Houston, TX in early 2006. Not all of the members lived in Houston at the time, so traveling between Austin and Houston for rehearsals, productions and shows happened quite frequently throughout the first year. By the spring of 2006, we released our first EP called ‘Red Stars’ which was produced and recorded in a small bedroom in the suburbs of Houston, TX and released independently.
After many shows in and outside of Houston, and rehearsing, in 2008, we had an opportunity to begin recording the production that we put into the album that is now Sy~3nc3 & Pr( )gr@m5. The album was recorded at SugarHill over the course of several months under the guidance of chief engineer Andy Bradley. For us, Sy~3nc3 & Pr( )gr@m5 (pronounced Science & Programs) was a transmission of current events as it unfolded in our lives individually. It didn’t focus too much on the past, but took our revolving environment and set it to theme – art imitating life.
As it stands now, we have been performing and recording in various places for over 4 and a half years now and have used all of our accomplishments (and failures) to keep us pressing forward. In 2010, Sy~3nc3 & Pr( )gr@m5 is being released by ZenHill Records and production for a new record has begun.
