Under The Sun is a product of the melting pot that is London's eclectic music scene. This 5-piece indie pop-rock band brings audiences piano-driven yet guitar-heavy songs that are both fun and poignant, punctuated by 4-part vocal harmonies and screaming guitar solos.
Drawing upon influences ranging from classic and modern rock through to blues and jazz, singer/pianist Derryn McMaster, guitarists Rob Lewin & Filipe Estacio, drummer Darren Hughes, and bassist Phil Matejtschuk, each bring their varied musical backgrounds to a singular sound that is both unique and familiar. Elements of The Beatles, Ben Folds, Crowded House, Queen, Foo Fighters, and The Feeling can all be heard in their music, and it is clearly a mix that both the band and their audiences love rocking out to.
Under The Sun has recently finalised their line-up and is now kicking-off on their live music journey, set to appear at venues in both London and the rest of south-east England, along with pop-up acoustic street appearances across the city. They also look forward to playing at festivals around England in the summer and releasing their first album later in 2014.
