Perry Lowe is a writer, artist, producer and drummer from Bastrop, Texas just 30 miles east of Austin. Perry began his journey in music when his Grandmother’s “Bridge Café” in Bastrop closed when he was 6. Perry and his three brothers inherited a large collection of 45’s from the jukebox which ranged in artists from Bread to ZZ Hill. From this experience Perry learned to appreciate different genres of music and is often quoted as saying “There are only two types of music to me…good and bad.” At 13 he and his brother Preston and a few friends (Including Rory “Storytime” Smith) from Bastrop High formed a band called “Image” for a local talent show and performed to an enthusiastic crowd at the Bastrop Opera House. After that…he was bit by the bug. The following year Perry began playing drums for a local Rockabilly artist Doak Snead and went on later to perform in California with Brown Eyed Soul (A three man R&B vocal harmony group signed by Clockwork Entertainment), Tyrone Vaughan (Son of Blues legend Jimmie Vaughan) and more recently Chubby Knuckle Choir. Perry is currently working on a contemporary R&B CD follow up to his 2010 online release “My Life In A Groove” (Available at the Perry Lowe store online), perfoming live with Chubby Knuckle Choir and developing Beatsmart (www.beatsmartmusic.com) a business providing backing grooves (Beats) for aspiring R&B and Hip Hop artists.
