Jessie is a young, purpose driven country, folk, and Christian music singer/songwriter from Bridgewater, Virginia. She grew up reading Bible verses and singing gospel songs in her grandpa's small, country church. As Jessie grew older, her love for music began to blossom into something bigger. When Jessie was 9 years old, her grandpa, her cousin Faith, and her started a band called "Cousins 4 Christ". Their theme is "A New Life" because they believe that in Christ, we are a new creation, as it says in
1 Corinthians 5:17. Jessie has had a wonderful opportunity to sing in a band with two special people as she continues to be very active in the bluegrass/gospel trio today.
David Coffey, Jessie's talented guitar teacher, has helped her develop her original, pure singing style. Over the past few years, the two have worked eagerly to perfect her singing voice, songwriting, and guitar playing. Jessie is excited to take mandolin and piano lessons with David in the near future.
Jessie enjoys performing a creative mix of positive country, folk, and contemporary Christian music, as well as original material such as "Show Me", "Heaven's Not Far Away", and "Endless". This determined artist continues to put her original twist on her music as her passion for being a reflection of Christ shines through. She cites LeAnn Rimes, Carrie Underwood, Alison Krauss, Patsy Cline, and Francesca Battistelli as her influences. The 15 year old, fearless artist is eager to see what God has in store for her over the next few years as she continues to work hard and give all the glory back to God with open hands. Her purpose is to reflect Jesus Christ through her talent and encourage others to do the same. She allows Jesus to shine through her songs to bless those around her and will continue to seek out His plan for her life.
A few months ago, Jessie was blessed with the opportunity to open for a former Statler Brother, Jimmy Fortune, at the Memorial Day Festival at the Rockingham County Fairgrounds. She also got the chance to open for Lulu Roman, a former star off the hit TV show "Heehaw" at the Shenandoah Caverns Yellow Barn. Last summer, Jessie got the opportunity to go to Camp Electric, a Christian music camp in Nashville. During the week of the camp, Jessie enjoyed meeting several gifted musicians her age and growing in her relationship with God, as well as advancing in her music. Jessie hopes to return to Camp Electric next year and work even harder in the mean time.
