Leslye LoMenzo is a Bay Area native whose varied background has allowed her to contribute to a wide variety of projects.
Growing up in Berkeley, CA, Leslye studied voice, piano, dance, figure skating, theatre, and dulcimer. She later performed with a wide variety of both cover & original dance/funk/R&B bands, as well as with the award-winning Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir. There she had the privilege of appearing onstage with industry legends like Branford Marsalis, Tramaine Hawkins, Joan Baez, and Lenny Williams (Tower of Power). She has also appeared in local community theatre (Jesus Christ Superstar at Alameda Civic Light Opera in 2000, and Hello, Dolly! at Altarena Playhouse in 2001).
In 1996, she signed with Atlantic Records subsidiary Riot Records, as lead vocalist/co-songwriter in the dance/pop duo Full Circle, with co-vocalist Kenya Bradford, and recorded an EP that year, featuring production by Rick Barretta and co-production/harmony vocals by Carl Wheeler (of Tony! Toni! Tone!). Although the material was not commercially released, the valuable experience she gained enabled her to write and record original demos a few years later, on her demo CD Pandora's Box. For two consecutive years, she sang backup in the multimedia tribute show No Place Like Pink, a psychedelic extravaganza of Pink Floyd music presented with a Wizard of Oz theme (with her featured vocal solo as “Dorothy”). In 2005, she interviewed with A&R at the headquarters of Capitol Records (legendary home of the Beatles, the Beach Boys, and Frank Sinatra), where she was being considered for possible development.
In 2010 and 2011, she performed backup vocals "The Plastic Fauxno Band" for the John Lennon tribute show Love Is The Answer: The Concert for John Lennon, featuring Drew Harrison (of renowned Beatles tribute act The Sun Kings) as Lennon, and other top-shelf industry veterans.
She is currently in development on new projects, and will update this page as they unfold.
