Jam Sessions bring together so much talent. One night out on the Crooked Road Trail at the Smyth County Jam, a group of pickers were just doing what they do and that's pickin a little Bluegrass. They all came from different walks of life. Coal miners, Coal miner sons, Railroad workers, Power company workers, Preachers and builders. Some wore bid overalls while others looked like they should be on the cover GQ. What a bunch of misfits !!! But the sound did fit!!! So a bunch of misfit pickers on Clinch Mountain come together to form......The Clinch Mountain Misfits
This recording was done as it was in the beginings of Bluegrass during the late 40s and early 50s. One mic, 5 pickers and no dubs, vocal or instrument tuning.Live with the pickers moving in and out of the mic as needed.
