Hello, we are the Hanley Sisters, thanks for checking out our profile! Our goal is to share music that inspires people, just as music has inspired us in life. Music was a huge part of our lives growing up, and as children we spent a lot of time listening to a wide range of music with our Mom, like - Air Supply, Ann Murray, Barbara Streisand, Amy Grant, The Beatles.... As we got older we became really interested in country music with our first country musical love being Keith Urban! (still love him today), and followed/listened to other country artists like the Dixie Chicks, Tim McGraw, Toby Keith, Alison Krauss and Union Station...to name a few. Today, we find ourselves inspired by and following a vast range of artists including Christina Perri, Sara Bareilles, Coldplay, Keith Urban, One Republic, Grace Potter, Mike Goldberg, Michelle Chamuel, Tyler Duncan, and Theo Katzman.
What we've learned in our short journey so far is, in order to create something that people can connect to and feel moved by, it requires you to reach in your soul and write without hesitation - no matter how emotionally vulnerable you become. If it comes from the heart, you can't go wrong. And that's what we'll continue to try to do...
A little more background for those interested ~
We are identical twin sisters and we grew up in a small town in northern Connecticut. We are both former college athletes (Marist College) and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. We moved around a bit after college, sometimes together, sometimes separately, but ended up living together at this point in our lives and we are quite happy :) We have always loved music and loved to sing and write, but never really did anything with it. Getting started with writing music and singing/playing was literally an epiphany that hit me (Molly), one day when I was sitting at my desk at work. My inspiration mainly came from an artist on The Voice, as well as certain life circumstances that we both recently faced. We have always felt this way, but it didn't become a reality until recently when we finally acted upon the thought that, gosh - life is just too short to not do something that you love. You're never too old to go after your dreams, right?
Thank you for checking us out and we truly hope you enjoy what you hear.
