M.A.S.K. is an acronym for Massacre All Scene Kids, meaning that these guys do not care about where you are from or your scene credentials, just that you come to the show and have a great time. The band first formed in the spring of 2012, when old Strength Among Us guitarists Brandon and Jon decided to give the ever changing dynamics of music another go. After searching through drummers, they stumbled across Bobby Parker and gave him a good bath and new clothes. Then, things really started to take off. One year later after working with Kris Norris (Darkest Hour, Scar the Martyr) as producer, they had 2 songs ready to record, but due to unforeseen circumstances things didn’t work out like they had planned. A few months later, a mad Irishman by the name of Andrew was approached about vocals for this sonic furry of notes and time progressions. Upon joining, the vocalist also introduced Matt, aka Dr. Smash, into the mix for handling the bass duties. Finally, the line up was complete and ready to go. Song writing went to top priority and things were flowing out like crazy. M.A.S.K. recorded their first single "The Only Retribution" and one month later played their first show with Cephalic Carnage, Kill The Client, and Bloodties. Having also performed alongside national touring acts such as War of Ages, Saving Grace, Mouth of the South, M.A.S.K.’s next show on June17 keeps in line with the type of events booked thus far and will be with Unearth, Texas in July, Cruel Hand, and Armed for Apocalypse. Further, the band has recently announced that they will be performing at The Dirty South Festival on August 2 in Dallas with Oh Sleeper, He Is Legend, Maylene and the Sons of Disaster, War of Ages, A Bullet For Pretty Boy, Wilson, and Mouth of the South. M.A.S.K. unofficially released a new three-track EP Sentient on Reverbnation in May and will have it available for purchase through iTunes, Spotify, Amazon MP3, Google Play, Rdio, Rhapsody, and more on June17. While things were really good in 2013, this year has brought even bigger opportunities for M.A.S.K. with significant releases, events, and exposure still yet to come.
