Dapper Slap / Bio

An unlikely group of five diverse bandmates, Dapper Slap first played in March of 2013 and has kept their weekly late-night jams going ever since, with occasional collaborators and special guests.

Despite disparate musical backgrounds, the quintet finds an effervescent common ground amid the liminal spaces between their preferred genres. While always tapping the groundwater of funk, Dapper Slap culls influences from a myriad of realms including (but never limited to) Latin grooves, improvisational jazz, and poppy hooks. The band implements progressive song structures in unique and unexpected ways to accentuate each member's distinct style.

Dapper Slap's process is a truly collaborative effort, with all members throwing equal musical weight into every song; each composition is tacked with their individual fingerprints. Dapper Slap's live sets evidence the time, effort, and joy they've put into their craft, and audiences respond in kind.
