I was at BB KIng's in Times Square and I got up on stage to jam with Nikki Armstrong's band in 2005, I think we played "Stormy Monday" and a couple of other songs. After the show I met the bass player AJ Hager and we talked about the blues a little and he gave me his card. I knew Terry Silverlight from the early 80's when he was doing sessions at Media Sound quite often. I worked at Media as an assistant engineer at the time. I wasn't a very good assistant, but what I learned was priceless. About a year after I met AJ I came up with the idea for New Blues Underground. I asked AJ and Terry to play on the cd and they said they would. The first song we recorded was "What I Say". I would record the song demo usually with a drum loop and guitar here in Maine and then send it to Terry (in NY) and then AJ (in PA) so they could record drums and then bass. We repeated this process for each song (most of which were done in 2012) until we had enough songs for an eo. In addition Travis Adams plays harp and Jonah Baum play harp and guitar respectively on "Stop These Blues". Jagon Eldridge plays sax and Bob Colwell plays keyboards on "What I Say.
