I love music! Music allows me to express myself and release the stress when life seems to have me driving on a roundabout without an exit, you know just like checking into the Hotel California and not being able to leave!
I started playing my first instrument at the age of five, which was the organ. My mother was a keyboardist and my love grew from her love of pianos and organs. I loved the sounds, of what I later learned were octaves, fifths, fourths and 2nds. I quickly took to using these elements to help me"make up a song", and then, after much rehearsal, recording the final take on a cassette tape!
I have continued to wander through the forest of sounds which we call music ever since! As an adult I've kept actively writing music even when I wasn't performing. I've been mostly in the "garage" as family life has kept me busy.
I've recently joined a Blues band (SmökHaus) and decided to dig out a few "blues" songs I've written over the years. Walking on the Edge was written in 1986 while I lived under the shadow of the Mutual of Omaha building (Does anyone remember the Mutant of Omaha t-shirts?) on Dodge St in Omaha.
