The French Touch - Nz / Bio

The French Touch - Nz (Victor Billion & Etienne Bizjak) first formed after a fortunate encounter in The French Corner, Auckland on the 20th September 2013. Their shared passion for music and dynamic personalities made for not only a successful artistic collaboration but also a great friendship. Victor Billon and Etienne Bizjak are a unique, talented and energetic duo who play original music as well as having a fresh take on pop music of today. They play a range of songs in both French and English.

Etienne Bizjak is a gypsy jazz violinist from Belgium who has been living in Auckland for one and a half years. He has been playing with many musicians all around Auckland such as Edwina Thorne, Cousin Alice, Yulia Maclean, John Ellis and Peter Scott. He also has his own gypsy jazz band - 'Fever Swing' -with guitarist Michael Kovalov.

Victor Billon is a French singer-songwriter who has been playing music for seven years, mainly with his former band in France, Bizbiz, a pop-rock group from Montpellier. Victor came to New Zealand originally just to travel around and see the country, but soon after he arrived, he met Etienne and quickly decided to change his plans.

Already they have produced a live album of fourteen songs, four of which are original compositions. They are in the process of composing more of their own material, with the goal of recording a studio album in May 2014.
