DRLNG is a new project featuring former members of Boston dreampop act Plumerai. On Sept 22nd, they will debut their first EP 'Icarus'. The four song EP was recorded at Mystic Valley Studios, one of the few 100% analog studios in North America, by Alex Garcia-Rivera and will be released in limited quantity on 12" vinyl by A Secret Brand.
DRLNG (pronounced darling) whom hail from New York and Paris, tip their hat to a variety of influences such as Seventeen Seconds era Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Bjork, and Ella Fitzgerald. All of which are fused into an exciting new sound that makes up the 'Icarus' ep. By employing minimal overdubs and not engaging in studio trickery, the band has successfully crafted an EP that is reliant more on their abilities as a unique breed of songwriters. Eliza's croon and DRLNG's dreamy soundscapes create a sound that is instantaneously recognized as their own.
