Bringing a pop sensibility to the singer-songwriter world, and a lyric-driven introspectiveness to the pop world, Jared Salvatore just unleashed his third recording, Must Don't Can't, released in January 2014. This EP comes on the heels of his 2013 release, Compass Out, and his 2009 solo debut, Mischief and Mayhem. Salvatore has spent many years fine tuning his skills as a co-writer on numerous independent releases in order to deliver Must Don't Can't which showcases his soulful vocals, and his gift as a songwriter, guitar player, and pianist.
Like many natural troubadours, Salvatore doesn't remember a time without music. By the age of 18, he realized it was his calling and began studying guitar and voice, in addition to piano which he'd played since the age of 5. Within two years, he found himself attending Berklee College of Music and writing and playing in various Boston-based bands, as varied as progressive rock band The Zero Four, funk/jazz ensemble Flatbush Park Leisure Group, and hard rock band Lansdowne. Salvatore's co-writing portfolio is just as diverse, having written with Livingston Taylor, Kyle Patrick, Matt Nakoa, Shannon Corey, Jamie Lynn Hart, Erin Barra, Hannah Holbrook of SHEL, and more.
In 2010, Salvatore graduated Berklee with a songwriting degree and a laundry list of accomplishments, including several placements in the school's bi-annual songwriter's showcase. He also submitted the winning song, "Matter Of Time" for a pitch contest featuring grammy winners Kathy Mattea, George Massenburg, and Elliot Scheiner.
Salvatore plans to support Must Don't Can't with a spring/summer 2014 tour and will be recording his next full length album in 2015.
