Random Thinking is a band formed by the siblings Aurora (voice, guitar) and Ángel Pérez (lead guitar), born and raised in Cádiz. They began their studies in music when they were just teenagers and they started to write their own songs back then. They never stopped their improvement of their music skills as composers and performers, Ángel focusing his efforts in the lead guitar (blues, jazz, country, etc...) and Aurora focusing in the rhythm guitar and vocal technic, being greatly influenced by the British and American music from the 60s and 70s and from other contemporary musicians, folk, blues and rock mainly. Artists like Joni Mitchell, The Allman Brothers, Eric Clapton, Pink Floyd, Craig Chaquico or Sheryl Crow had much influence over their understanding about music.
They both studied in Madrid. Meanwhile, they edit and self-produce their first EP, with six acoustic songs recorded strictly live. Work that they played around well-known venues in Madrid (Siroco, Contraclub, Boca del Lobo...), in an acoustic show marked by the strong personality and mood of their music.
With the goal of recording their own first LP, they contact and hire renowned local and international musicians like Bernd Voss on the electric guitar (Dionne Warwick, Bonnie Tyler, Miguel Ríos,..), José Mena on the drums (Jorge Drexler), Alberto Miras on the keyboard (Paco Cepero), José Manuel Posada "Popo" on the bass guitar (Concha Buika, Vicente Amigo,..), Gospel Factory on the backing vocals (Jon Secada, Juanes,..) and Jaime Roldán as assistant in artistic production.
Aurora and Ángel record their first LP "Random Thinking" at Pko Studios (one of the best recording studios in the world) with the Grammy awarded music engineer Caco Refojo. Every single note is recorded live to capture the organic nature of their music. The record contains 11 songs fully composed by the Pérez brothers, where all the wealth and musical diversion they got is crystalized. It's recorded strictly live with the true intention of capturing the magic and authenticity of what is happening by an unique way in the very moment of inspiration.
The work has been fully self-produced and self-edited by Ángel and Aurora and it mixes folk, blues, pop, catching the listener into a mosaic putting gently together the purity of styles and their unique sound. As a result, you get a fresh breeze with the essences of the best music of several decades renewed by melodies full of expression and gentleness. Random Thinking sign for the management and promotion agency Alta Fidelidad, in order to properly promote the work.
The first single is "Off-season" which music video is being officially released in October 2014. The release date of the LP will be December 2014 and will be available on CD and digitally, debut album as a result of the effort and passion of these two musician and composer siblings.
