Est. 1983 - new lineup, new songs and a new release from Santa Barbara's Ca. funnest bunch of scumbag Punk Rockers !

9 Song Debut release out Oct. 2013 will be available through us, I Tunes and all the regular channels. Featuring an All Star Lineup from members of: Rich Kids on LSD, Rat Pack, Buck Wild, Versus The World, Lagwagon, Threatend Hope, Lethal Dose and others.

The Boxheads formed sometime in 1983 at Sean and Barrett Murphys house in Carpinteria, with Sean on drums and Barrett on vocals they were joined by fellow Punk Rocker/Surf buddies, Alan (Alpo) Duncan on guitar and Tom Crawford on bass. Alpo wrote all the songs and has been the one enduring fixture of the boxheads since the beginning. Sean, Tom and Alpo spent the most time in the band, Barrett eventually left to follow other projects and local rockstar and Cito Rat local Tom Crawford took over the singing, The boxheads played alot locally most every weekend you could find them at the Red Barn in I.V. or some house party in Cito that would always be filled with hundreds of hoodlums raging out of control, Boxhead shows were always a festival of massive amounts of beer, buds and mass debauchery !! The members eventually got Seduced by the dark side and drifted off into other bands, Alpo was basically in every Punk Rock (or Punk Rockish) band ever in Santa Barbara from 1980 till ... including, Rich Kids On LSD-original member, Rat Pack- old Nardcore Band - original member and just tons of fricken bands litterally, Sean Murhy was also in Rat Pack with Alpo and They were also in Bad Neighbor a local Santa Barbara Punk Funk band from the early 90s with T.Roll. Sometime in 2012 Barrett was having a midlife crisis and called up friend and local drummmer and another band slut Raul Lopez to get the band back together, Raul suggested Pete Gardner who Raul played in many bands with locally to play guitar, Pete has played in lots of bands including working for local metal gods Snoton the Ozzfest,Threatend Hope (Raul and Pete were both in this old school Goleta band ) also Versus the World, Lethal Dose, Buck Wild, My Ass, VOS and a slew of other great bands, we hit up Alpo at this point also wouldnt be the Boxheads without him, so we had Bear-voice, Pete - guitar, Alpo - guitar and Raul drums, all we needed was a bass player so we hit up a friend Ricardo Frustockl O.C. native and Conspiracy theorist to play the bass, we did a couple practices with this line up and it was great things were moving along fine then Ricardo had to graciously bow out due to school and work, so Pete hopped on the bass just to get some practicing down and songs written, we decided to practice at Alpo's house where he lived with T.Roll - Todd being the super musiscian he is hopped in with us the first day on guitar to "just fuck around a bit" and just ruled it, so we knew that was the line-up. T.Roll being as much of a band slut as the rest of us has played with Rich Kids on LSD, Rat Pack also, Bad Neighbor, The Fags, Sancho and tons of others i cant list all of the bands everyone has been in, its ridiculous, there is a lot of bands, signed, unsigned, Punk, Ska, Country, Funk, you name it they have played it and have played shows with damn near every punk rock band you could think of, from the late 70s till today a lot of music has been played. T.Roll and Pete will switch instruments every once in a while so dont be surprised if you see Pete on guitar and T.roll on Bass. All of the band members have been prominent fixtures of the Santa Barbara and So. Cal Punk Rock / Hardcore scene since its started all are very established and incredible musicians, if you get a chance you have to try and make a Boxhead show, its fast and tight Southern California Punk Rock !!! just like your mama used to listen too.
