Kenneth hails from Washington D.C.. He was raised up in Gospel, Blues, Jazz and soul by both his father's and mother's side of the family. Kenneth's fondest memory will always be sitting in the pew at United Methodist Church in Calvert County, Maryland, listening to his Pop Pop, Uncle Poley and Uncle Irving, among others, electrify the room with their "passion behind the lyric". Kenneth was raised to believe what he was singing and to give each lyric and phrase the love and voice it is due.
Though Kenneth maintained his deep connection to Gospel Music, as he grew up, he was drawn to other genres, such as rock, country and even punk/ska. He was attracted to any artist that showed passion and devotion to the music they were creating. In 1990, Kenneth decided to offer his voice, when he cofounded a group by the name of Liquid Rhythm, with Childhood best friend, Billy Alahouzas, and drummer phenom Barry Sherard. As they sharpened their craft, and through member changes, Kenneth found himself being invited to Nashville, TN. to cut a development demo with Al Jolsen Entertainment (Black and White Music) by an old Country Artist known in the Nashville community as Tabby Crab. Shortly after Liquid Rhythm returned from Nashville, they broke up. When this news reached Tabby's ears, he called Kenneth and invited him back to Nashville to see what was there for him.
It was there where Kenneth was reconnected to his Gospel roots, in the form of Contemporary Christian Music.
