Educated in keyboard in childhood, and other music at school - percussion, acoustic guitar. Have played djembe in hand drumming groups and as a busker in 2002, til I sold the djembe in 2006 when travelling in Bellingen, NSW. Have learnt kit drumming but my last lesson was in 2006 in East Maitland, NSW before an assault on a train on the way back home - the police said it was a fair fight and did not press charges against my assailant, I was down for a month after. Involved in choirs, Hornsby Girls High School in 1994, at Sydney Town Hall (memorably singing the Libera Me version by Faure) and also in the Blue Mountains in 2008, and Cairns in 2011-2012.
I create music electronically, on an experiential level, also, with my Debut track Disrespect released in 2010.
I am buying a 4 string electric bass yet again. I started with a 3/4 Animato (Brisbane) Arco in 2011, as my first ever bass - but that bass was beautiful and big, I sold the bass to a boys school in Cairns. I then bought an Artist electric 4 string Bass guitar, I missed the bass. It was cheap but also had a bass amp as part of a package deal. I played it a while and then sold it. Then I bought a Ibanez Acoustic 4 string bass, which had a heavy hard case, 9 extra kgs! I tried taking it to Music Certificate IV lessons at Cairns TAFE in early 2012 once, usually riding my hybrid mountain bike to TAFE most days, instead I took the bus the heavy case, usually playing the longer necked electric 4 stringed basses at TAFE. I played it for 1 hour every day after school, as well as rehearsing for 1 hour for another class, and doing music theory. I studied full days at TAFE in Music, doing musicology (music theory) and performance, as well as vocal training for singing, and percussive/timing class, and also learnt how to use music making software. I swapped the acoustic bass, which started to get a crack in the neck from transportation and also maybe because it sometimes crashed or slid from where it was kept, for a hybrid mountain bike. I had to get the bike as a form of transport for my training as a Stablehand at Caulfield Racecourse due to the early starts at 4am, and no buses at that time from St Kilda, where I lived. But then I got a chest infection from riding in the winter, so I couldn't work with the thoroughbreds anymore, I decided. Then I got another bass, an electric Ibanez 4 string Roadgear, and then sold it to make some money, which I regret a bit, but I was broke. I regret selling all of my basses, or swapping them, but at the same time I have enjoyed them. And will continue to enjoy my next bass. I do want to move on to a 5 or more string bass, but I really don't know enough yet, even though I can also play guitar a bit, preferring acoustic at the moment - I last played the acoustic guitar in May 2014 at Lentil as Anything, Abbotsford, Melbourne, VIC, Australia with a musical friend.
