Through the Darkness / Bio

Early 2014 - Through the Darkness seemingly came from no where and began blowing up the Des Moines music scene while fighting their way to the final four of Lazer 103.3's Battle of the Bands. Since then they have gained the support of every crowd they've performed for with crowd pleasing songs such as a unique cover of Taylor Swift's 'Trouble' and a dream inspiring, mosh-worthy song titled 'Believer." Other fan favorites include 'Our Darkest Days', which originally shared it's name with the band, as well as their nearly graceful rock tune, 'The Falling of a Dream.'
There extremely talented drummer, riff-rich guitar melodies with a thick bass undertone as well as dual-vocals capture the attention of not only fans and first time listeners but other musicians as well. These boys don't only come to bring the party, but to inspire everyone to make the best of our short time on this Earth. Currently working on recording more songs, away from playing shows they follow the band's creed of helping others 'find the light'. On September 21st of 2014--as well as future walks, members of the band will be walking for an anti-suicide organization in Ankeny. This walk, known as 'Out of the Darkness', takes donations to help fund suicide prevention. Through the Darkness does not only write strong music but aim to create a strong bond with their fans as well. If you haven't seen them live, you're missing out on one of the many bands that still keep the local music scene alive to this very day.
