Unity Nguyen plays African and Vietnamese traditional music and fusion with modern elements. This alchemy is medicine that transcends boundaries of culture, language and spirit. Unity specializes in the African Kora (21-string harp) and the Vietnamese Dan Tranh (16-string zither), with a background in African and Latin percussion, and European classical theory. She performs solo, or with the Unity Nguyen Ensemble. Her music adds the needed touch to any setting including weddings, festivals, schools, and corporate events.
Music is part of Unity’s healing path: she holds an MD from UCSF School of Medicine, and practices integrative Chinese Medicine in San Francisco. She also shares her passion by teaching and facilitating music workshops for all ages.
