Clifton Roesch was born in Melbourne, FL and moved to Tampa to attend college at USF. While working at the university Papa John's, Roesch met David Hicks, a fellow musician. When not delivering pizza, the two discussed the possibility of collaborating on a music project. This project came to its fruition with the addition of Robert Orr, a drummer and also a delivery driver for Papa Johns, and Ange...lique VanDorpe, a multi-talented musician Roesch met while playing with Todd Murphy and the Rift. The group began practicing every week and decided on "The Drivers," as a name. With Roesch's original songwriting, Hicks' bluegrass roots, Orr's jazz combo experience, and VanDorpe's classical training, the band manages to create a unique blend of classical sounding rock and blues, with a dash of reggae and bluegrass folk.
