Troy has been writing and recording music since the age of 10 when he first received his Mexican-made Fender guitar and a RadioShack cassette karaoke machine. He has since upgraded to ProTools however he has never replaced the Fender. Nirvana "Unplugged" was the first album he bought. He inherited an interesting record (vinyl) collection from his mother and was exposed to The Sugarhill Gang, The Eagles, Peter Frampton, Dr. Hook, Rod Stewart, and many others. He found Gram Parsons in middle school and the Grateful Dead in university. Troy is an MTSU alumnus and studied "Commercial Songwriting" with Jim Beavers where, much to Mr. Beaver's annoyance, Troy submitted all of his song recordings on cassette tapes.
Currently Troy lives, writes, records, and climbs in Nashville.
