Johnny is a rising star on the UK blues-rock scene, who having spent the last few years as a session musician has started his own project. Blending Joe Bonamassa influenced riffing with John Mayer's commercial blues style, Johnny brings a new, modern spin on the classic sounds of the music that kicked of pop music, the Blues.
Johnny grew up surrounded by music. His Grandad played piano and Hammond Organ professionally and it wasn't long before Johnny discovered an amazing record collection at home with albums from the likes of Ray Charles, Muddy Waters and Buddy Guy.
His song 'Kickstart' is a great example of Johnny exploring his musical roots. He makes subtle lyrical references to the universal topics as sung by the likes of Robert Johnson, Howlin' Wolf and Elmore James, Johnny breathes new life into the traditional 12 bar and makes it his own.
"I admire new players like John Mayer and Gary Clark Jr...they've both managed to find a way to connect with people by modernizing the blues so it's more approachable to the listener and that's exactly what I'm trying to do".
