which when finished will be available online from various outlets.
Kim Seymour, vocalist, whom has been in the business professionally for the past 30 years and worked in various solo / band projects.
I met Rod when Pete Rabjohns asked me to join The Belairs a few months ago, (Pete and I go back to my teens). Not sure how it came about but Rod had mentioned he had done loads of writing in the past and I got to putting pen to paper myself. And to my surprise people started liking it. My sister Jac Seymour used to always
say I should, it was Jac who got me started singing at the ripe old age of 15. Ive been in pubs and clubs for 37 years so writing is totally new experience for me, and I am loving it. Just hope people listen and enjoy. The songs are mostly about my own experiences or of people close to me, so the ideas are flowing
pretty easily at the moment. Lets face it ive had plenty of time to experience life. Enjoy xxx
Rod "Bare Bones" Philip, musician who has been in the business for over 30 years. Worked with various bands throughout career as a semi-pro.
Rod "I have been playing since the age of 12. Ma dad had an old beat up guitar with 4 strings on it (bit like seasick steve) started playing along to led zepplin and the beatles. Then me brother brought a 12string accoustic ack from singapore (tis one had all the strings, time to get out ma bert weedon book and learn). I remember getting first band together; all came about because i started listening to status quo's caroline learned all the parts except the drums, persuaded ma mates to buy instruments and showed them, and next thing you know a band was formed and that was the start. After various outfits some of which i'm still with i settled on doing what I like best and thats writing music.
We met through a band called the bel-airs which was formed by our good friend and drummer Pete Rabjohns. Kim was draughted in as new lead vocalist, Rod: "I fell in love with Kim's voice it was soft yet gritty and man can belt out a tune". Found out Kim was interested in trying out writing lyrics. After some encouragement Kim let me read some lyrics and I was literely blown away, within a couple of hours had a tune together Kim loved it and the song Sex 41 was created. There is a chemistry there between us musically. We had to do more. So far we have four with more in the pipeline. Ive never wrote this way before so a lot of it is new territory for me, im loving it.
Influences - ranging from striesand to AC/DC too much to mention really
Although our songs are in their early stages yet. We'd like to give people the chance to hear what we are making and how the songs will evolve along the way. We are hoping that once we have ten maybe twelve we will go into the studio and produce an album.
We have been receiving favourable feedback from various sources musicians / producers and we have even played some of them to general public with a great response.
Our aim is just to share our songs with people.
