Rose Duffy Music / Bio

Rose Duffy: Songwriter from Saint Paul Minnesota.
Biography
Introduction:

As early as her Kindergarten days, Rose used to raise her hand every day to ask the teacher if she could play the piano for her class … She was born to perform …

Rose, The Songwriter:

Rose was inspired to write music as a result of a painful divorce that she went through. Throughout that process, Rose was determined to turn a negative situation into a positive one. She began writing down her feelings (which later became song lyrics). She then collaborated with other songwriters and the song “All About to Change” was born. Rose knows all too well how tough it is to break into the Nashville music scene – She maintains, however, that she’s “tougher.”

In the Fall of 2012, Rose wrote a love song/picture montage for her son called “Big Picture Window. She quickly realized that she should share her song, so she posted it on YouTube. Rose has received over 7,000 YouTube views for “Big Picture Window” and countless notes from perfect strangers, thanking her for her song’s positive message.

Rose has written several other songs as well. Watch for them … Rose, the songwriter, was born to make a difference with her music …

Rose’s songs will:

(a) Cause you to drive too fast on her up-tempo songs (Better set the cruise control);

(b) Raise you up from your seat to dance (You will most likely find yourself dancing on chairs … and maybe even on tables;

(c) Invite you to sing at the top of your lungs while in the shower, driving, cleaning house, mixing it up with friends … You might even end up dancing and singing with friends on the rooftops;

(d) Make you smile … and maybe even make your day;

(e) Make you laugh (even though you’ve heard the song a hundred times … You’ll still catch yourself laughing;

(f) Cause you to reminisce (All in all … Life is good);

(g) Inspire you … If she can climb that mountain … so can you!

(h) Make you hit the replay button over and over … Just like clockwork;

(i) Pull at your heartstrings … and maybe even bring out a tear or two;

(j) Last but not least, make you want to share her music with your friends and family. Please do!!!

Rose, The Musician:

Rose currently plays the sax and flute in a Blues band called “Armadillo Jump. Direct from their website “Armadillo Jump is a Twin Cities/Minnesota based Rockin Rhythm and Blues band that has taken the music they love –rockin blues– and cranked it up. The passion, excitement and energy they pour into the music comes across as something that’s fresh and crispy. Mix in a little Texas-style rockin’ blues attitude, slather it with moppin’ sauce and a generous splash of the hot stuff and my friends, you have a recipe for a show that’s unmistakably jumpin.” Armadillo Jump recently won first place in “Famous Dave’s Battle of the Blues Bands.” As a result of their big victory, they were invited to open for Tommy Castro.

Rose also plays in a band called “Big Bob and the High Rollers.” Direct from their website, Big Bob and the High Rollers is a high-energy, fully charged classic rock-and-roll band. With our many years of party-making experience, we’re sure to transform your event into a good time as you spend the night singing and dancing with us.”

Rose’s Musical Highlights So Far:

Throughout the years, Rose repeatedly sat in with Blues giants, such as Buddy Guy, Koko Taylor, Matt Guitar Murphy, Luther Allison, James Cotton, Willie Dixon, Pinetop Perkins and The Legendary Blues Band, etc. Rose also performed two shows with Etta James and was invited back the following year for two more shows by nobody other than Etta James herself.

Rose won a national talent contest and was invited to perform on The Rosie O’Donnell Show. She threw in some humor as well. With a little bit of therapy … she’s doing okay now …

Rose’s Vision: To be voted “Songwriter of the Year”
To dance with Ellen to one of her songs
To become Bonnie Raitt’s sax player
To play the National Anthem for the Minnesota teams: The Wild, The Twins, The Timberwolves, The Lynx and The Vikings
